Dr. Hill-Busselle grew up in Farmington Hills, Michigan. She attended North Farmington High School, graduated in 1975, and was class valedictorian. Her Bachelor of Science was obtained at University of Michigan where she graduated magna cum laude in 1979. She was Phi Beta Kappa and was a James Angell Scholar.
Her medical training was at Emory University in Atlanta. She attended medical school at Emory University from 1979-1983 and graduated with high honors. Her residency in obstetrics and gynecology was also at Emory University. She was Chief Resident from 1986-1987. During residency, it was required that all OBGYN residents take a national test called the CREOGs (Council on Residency Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology). This test was taken during the 2nd and 4th year of residency. Each time, Dr. Hill-Busselle scored in the 99th percentile of all OBGYN residents in the United States. She completed her medical training in 1987.
After residency, Dr. Hill-Busselle joined an OBGYN group in suburban Atlanta. She practiced there until 1991. Shortly after the birth of her daughter, Kate, Dr. Hill-Busselle and her husband Bob moved to Bozeman, Montana. Here, Dr. Hill-Busselle opened her gynecology and women's healthcare practice. She practiced in Bozeman for 10 years. She was extremely busy and had "the best patients in the world!" Unfortunately, 2001, Dr. Hill-Busselle and her family had to move to Florida to care for her ailing parents. She set up the gynecology department at a large multi-specialty group in Naples, Florida. She continued to practice and also to lecture on a national basis to physicians on women's health issues. Circumstances eventually changed and Kate was off to college at Michigan State University and thriving. The opportunity was finally available to return to Bozeman, so Dr. Hill-Busselle and her husband Bob moved back to Montana. She has re-opened her practice on June 1, 2011. It has been wonderful to reconnect with former patients and also to welcome many new patients to her practice.
In addition to providing excellent health care for women, Dr. Hill-Busselle has been a national lecturer for over 10 years. She has given hundreds of lectures all over the country to physicians and other health care providers on women's health care. She has served on several national advisory boards, including migraine headaches, osteoporosis, and genital herpes. She is a published author of articles written for medical journals. She has also been filmed for educational DVDs to be used for physician education on subjects such as genital herpes and osteoporosis. With regards to Continuing Medical Education (CME) for physicians, she had served on the advisory board CME companies. As a member of the American Headache Society, she was part of a committee that just completed writing national guidelines on the treatment of migraine headaches during pregnancy and lactation. She does peer-review for educational articles and CME lecture content. Clinical research has also been a part of her practice and she has participated in several studies in women's health. Dr. Hill-Busselle is still actively lecturing and educating other physicians. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FACOG).
